Tire Rotation

Tire rotation refers to the regular practice of switching the position of each tire on the car. By giving each tire time on each corner of the vehicle, abnormal tire wear patterns are minimized. This also helps to equalize tread wear and thus is critical to maximizing tire life.
If you have purchased the tires from us, tire rotation is generally free for the life of the tires. If you purchased the tires elsewhere, we would be happy to rotate the tires for a nominal charge.

Tire rotation should be performed about every 6,000 miles. Generally, the tires are crossed from the non-driving wheels to the drive wheels. The other 2 tires remain on the same side of the vehicle. On 4 wheel drive vehicles, the drive wheels are in the back. On some vehicles, the standard tire rotation pattern cannot be used. The most important thing about tire rotation patterns is that the same pattern be used each time. Otherwise, each tire won't have a chance on each corner of the vehicle.
Some tire are "directional" and cannot be switched from side-to-side. Some vehicles have different size tires on the front and back.. This limits the locations that a tire may take on the vehicle. When in doubt, consult us for guidance. Tire rotation time also offers a good opportunity to have the tires and wheels balanced. This typically should be done once as the tire life approaches 50%.
