Fuel Pump

Almost all vehicles now have the fuel pump inside the fuel tank. The fuel pump, driven by electricity, has to deliver clean gasoline to the fuel injectors at high pressure. Becuase the computer assumes a certain amount of pressure to push the fuel through the fuel injectors, a poorly working fuel pump can cause engine performance problems, hard starting or prevent the engine from starting altogether.
The fuel pump pushes the gasoline through a fuel filter on the way to the engine. If the fuel pump has to push the gasoline through a dirty fuel filter, it works its butt off. Most fuel pumps fail because they've worked to death.
If the engine fails to start, THE PROBLEM IS NOT NECESSARILY THE FUEL PUMP! You could have an electrical problem that prevents to pump to run or a problem that prevents the ignition system from working.
